Job description

An exciting and rare opportunity has come up for a highly creative storyteller with exceptional marketing and communications skills to lead on marketing and communications strategy at CHAS.

At CHAS, we do extraordinary things for dying children and their families every day. But we can only be there for families thanks to people like you. People who care. Who strive to make a difference every day. And who find joy in what they do.

Together, we make sure that no one has to face the death of their child alone.

We’re at a very exciting period of growth for CHAS, and our marketing and communications strategy is central to CHAS’ success. As the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will lead, deliver, and evaluate a successful marketing and communications programme to grow and develop the CHAS brand, raising awareness across Scotland and increasing support for our cause.

Brand strategy and storytelling: You’ll develop and execute a comprehensive brand strategy that is rooted in storytelling, aiming to cultivate brand equity and raise awareness. Collaborating with teams across CHAS, you will support the development of impactful campaigns and initiatives that tell the stories of the families in our care, to engage and inspire support. Additionally, you will evolve the CHAS brand guidelines to reflect the organisation's evolution and ensure consistent brand representation. Monitoring brand performance and market trends, you will identify opportunities for growth and adapt strategies accordingly.

Communications strategy and development: Your role will involve developing and implementing the CHAS communication strategy, supporting key messages and issues. You will oversee crisis communications and work with stakeholders across the organisation to develop an annual content plan. Managing national media partnerships will be crucial for amplifying our stories and expanding our reach. Leading a team made up of marketing, design and communications professionals, you will collect and curate compelling stories that highlight the impact of our services. Furthermore, you’ll be responsible for delivering communication and campaign reporting to inform strategic decision-making.

Internal communications and relationship management: Building effective relationships with teams across CHAS, you will oversee the continued development and implementation of an effective internal communications strategy, identify internal communication opportunities and integrate storytelling into all aspects of our organisation. You’ll also make sure that the CHAS brand, tone of voice and style are fully integrated into all aspects of our organisation internally as well as externally.
