Job description
Company Description
It all started with an idea at Block in 2013. Initially built to take the pain out of peer-to-peer payments, Cash App has gone from a simple product with a single purpose to a dynamic ecosystem, developing unique financial products, including Afterpay/Clearpay, to provide a better way to send, spend, invest, borrow and save to our 47 million monthly active customers. We want to redefine the world’s relationship with money to make it more relatable, instantly available, and universally accessible.
Today, Cash App has thousands of employees working globally across office and remote locations, with a culture geared toward innovation, collaboration and impact. We’ve been a distributed team since day one, and many of our roles can be done remotely from the countries where Cash App operates. No matter the location, we tailor our experience to ensure our employees are creative, productive, and happy.

- Lead announcements for product launches and new features.
- Own executive communications for product leaders, including media briefings and spokesperson training.
- Develop and maintain reporter relationships across business, tech, crypto, and industry publications to drive well-informed coverage and keep Cash App continually top of mind.
- Craft compelling and well-written materials, including press releases, briefing documents, communications plans and FAQs, and other collateral.
- Be a spokesperson on crucial media interactions, including crisis communications and issues that might affect our business and corporate reputation.
- Work cross-functionally with many teams inside Cash App including product, brand marketing, investor relations, legal, policy, design, internal communications, as well as other teams within Block.
- 8+ years relevant work experience at either a PR agency or an in-house communications team.
- Previous product communications experience at a fintech and/or crypto company.
- Media relations skills that have driven coverage in business, tech, crypto, and consumer publications.
- A knack for uncovering stories, data, and other insights that can drive coverage and advance company narratives in the down-cycles between product launches or announcements.
- Ability to flex between working on projects solo and as part of a team.
- Affinity for building partnerships with key internal stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and to meet deadlines consistently.
- Experience managing external agency partners.
