Carmel Youth Assistance Program Marketing and Communications Manager
Carmel Youth Assistance Program (CYAP) provides professional family-centered coordination of services to youth and families of the Carmel Clay School District. Youth and families are often referred to our program by the schools, police, court officials, other agencies and parents with concerns about their child. CYAP services are free and voluntary.
Carmel Youth Assistance Program is seeking a Marketing and Communication Manager to support their mission to serve the youth of Carmel. The Manager will develop, implement and support integrated communications and marketing needs on behalf of the organization with the goal to grow awareness of the organization within the community. This may include creating marketing materials such as graphics, brochures, annual report, etc.; creating and monitoring social media content; assisting with outreach to community organizations; supporting the marketing needs of and attending CYAP’s events and fundraisers; and implementing communications outreach to donors and volunteers including the quarterly e-newsletter. The ability to handle working with confidential information is necessary. This position will work under the supervision of the Carmel Youth Assistance board of directors and will collaborate closely with staff. This is a part-time position working between 15-20 hours per week.
Status:
- Independent Contractor, 15-20 hours
- Monday through Friday daytime hours, some flexibility in scheduling
- Possible evenings and weekend events
- Will be issued a 1099 at the end of each year – no benefits
- Contract will extend for 1 year from date of hire, subject to assessment/extension at that time
- $25-30/hr depending on experience
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing or a related field OR an equivalent amount of experience
- 2 + years of related professional experience; non-profit experience a plus
- Outgoing, friendly, welcoming, team player with a commitment to bettering the lives of the youth in Carmel
- Experience executing content and engagement via multiple social media platforms
- Must possess excellent writing, editing and communication skills
- Experience with graphic design programs (i.e. Canva), email distribution platforms (i.e. Constant Contact), CRM databases, web content management systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams) and Google Drive
- Experience in public speaking a plus
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to both work collaboratively and independently while managing multiple projects

- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and a high degree of accuracy in keeping records
- Must have a valid Indiana driver's license
- Must be able and willing to lift and carry items 35-50 lbs
- Must be able to pass a federal and state background check
Responsibilities:
- Manage the organizational brand through digital, written, print media, banners, flyers, the website and internal displays
- Develop and manage communication and marketing content on the website, in social media, newsletter and in publications. Monitor the organization’s social media and online presence.
- Develop various types of written content, including, but not limited to, newsletter content, website content, stakeholder communications
- Collaborates with and supports marketing needs of CYAP board of directors and committees
- Assist with project management and implementation of external communications projects
- Design and format flyers, brochures, signage, t-shirts, and other marketing materials as needed
- Collaborates with CYAP staff to produce organization’s end of year report
- Assists in the planning and coordination of CYAP’s major events, specifically Carmel Gala
- Participates on Carmel Gala planning committee, coordinates marketing needs for event, and ensures all sponsorship recognition is executed
- Create and manage organization’s marketing plan and presents on an annual basis to CYAP board of directors
- Assist with document retention
- Attend pertinent community events to promote awareness of CYAP such as farmers markets, speaking opportunities, etc.
- Collaborate with CYAP staff on volunteer needs and assists in volunteer recruitment
- Coordinate with CYAP staff to develop new corporate partners and manages engagement strategy with current partners
- Support staff with electronic and print communication to clients as assigned by CYAP.
- Oversee donor solicitation mailings, donor recognition, and donor communication

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
