This position is for an experienced internal communications professional. The individual will partner with the VP, Associate Communications for Retirement Solutions, to develop and execute associate communications strategies, ensuring tight connection to the TIAA enterprise strategy. The Director will provide communications and presentation counsel and support to the Senior Leaders in Retirement Solutions. They will partner closely with the Retirement Solutions team (especially Sales Enablement) and People team partners to develop comprehensive internal messaging platforms and lead internal communications strategies.

Partners closely with external communications and media relations lead on the Corporate Communications team to ensure coordinated, consistent messaging across internal and external audiences.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Assist with execution of key elements of Retirement Solutions communications plan.
  • Develop and execute internal communications plans for senior leaders that supplement the overall communications plan for Retirement Solutions and helps associates understand, own and know how their work connects to the strategy.
  • Partner with senior leaders to develop strategic, timely and engaging internal messaging that drives desired behaviors, actions and culture building.
  • Proactively plan internal events in coordination with RS partners, including preparation for A/V and technology needs in concert with IT and CAO teams.
  • Focus on storytelling and creating a strategic, compelling narrative around the RS vision delivered through high-impact executive presentations (including PowerPoint) and other written content (talking points, scripts, etc.) for internal audiences.
  • Direct production of written and visual media, including videos, intranet articles and email communications.
  • Ensure key enterprise initiatives and messages are reinforced through internal communication channels.
  • Write, edit, and oversee distribution of internal organizational communications with excellence and efficiency.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Minimum of 5 years in corporate communications, including specific experience in internal and executive communications
Preferred:
  • 7 years in corporate communications, including specific experience in internal and executive communications
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing or related field
  • Understanding of or experience in institutional retirement (401kor 403b) business a plus
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to clearly communicate complex business and financial information in a simple, engaging and compelling way
  • Strong storytelling skills and capabilities; experience in creating engaging presentations and coordinating content from subject matters experts into a cohesive story for executive level presentation and delivery
  • Experience developing and executing communication plans that support organizational changes
  • High degree of flexibility; ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; attuned to time-sensitive, high-impact situations
  • Must treat confidential or sensitive material appropriately

Base Pay Range: $108,800/yr. - $150,000/yr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
