Communications Specialist ~ Full Time
If you're looking for a rewarding career then consider applying to the Plymouth Police Department as a Communications Specialist. You will be the link between citizens who need services and the field personnel who respond to their needs. You provide valuable services that enhance the quality of life for residents of Plymouth as well as the 9 other Law Enforcement Agencies that we dispatch for.
Duties are varied and include receiving, answering, and processing 911 emergency and non-emergency calls.
The desired applicant will show the ability to remain calm in stressful situations and multitask;
Qualifications and Minimum Requirements:
~High school diploma or GED,
~Ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced setting and respond to questions
from Officers and the general public.
~Ability to work required shifts with Holiday, and weekend assignments.
Preference will be given to trained, certified dispatchers or those with prior Police
Dispatch experience, however prior experience is not required. The selection process will include a written test, a personal interview, and a background investigation. This position will remain open until an adequate pool of candidates has been received.
Salary range is from $19.20 to $26.33 per hour based on experience.
