Job Duties

The Internal Communications Specialist, under supervision, is focused primarily on the production and dissemination of messaging products and materials for Department staff, including the Department 's newsletters and the associated news, information, feature, and promotional content. Responsible for writing articles, letters, and speeches; produces and publishes intranet and internet content. Provides guidance to Department staff in the production of reports, staff communications, and presentations. Designs Department communications materials, including posters, brochures and more. Assists unit staff with external communications projects and materials as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

HS Diploma or GED equivalent. Experience in professional print production and/or graphic design. Highly proficient written communications skills and editing. Demonstrated ability to work under deadlines, both short-and long-term. Demonstrated ability to complete projects in a timely fashion. Experience in graphic design and print product layout and production.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and or a combination of equivalent education or experience in communications, journalism, marketing, English, or a related field. Work experience producing written and oral communication for internal and/or public dissemination. Considerable experience and training with the Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, and
Photoshop. Experience with intranet content management.
