The Role: We are looking for a positive, proactive Communications Assistant to provide outstanding support to our small, friendly and hard-working Communications team. To thrive in this role, you’ll have excellent written and verbal communication skills, top notch organisational skills, and be able to prioritise a broad and busy workload. You’ll take pride in the vital role you play in supporting the flow of information and sharing of best practice among our employees and external stakeholders across the UK. Most importantly, you will be a team player, have enthusiasm and be brimming with ideas to enhance our communications to a range of audiences. Your responsibilities: Develop a proactive approach to gathering news stories from across our services, liaising with staff and converting these into articles / blogs / newsletters to share across our channels Manage our events and engagement calendars – proactively seeking stories, blogs or photos to raise awareness of key issues that matter to our staff and service users. Support with organising campaigns and producing materials suitable for our communication channels. Assist with the organisation and admin of staff events (virtual and face to face) e.g. awards, conferences, forums, webinars, launches, consultations, training, etc. Liaise, where appropriate, within our Communications and Marketing team to share content, including service user and staff stories, ensuring relevant consents are in place. Help to maintain the staff comms channels including intranet (Wordpress), digital screens and e-comms to effectively manage, amend and upload content that is on brand. Managing the Communications inbox and responding to feedback. Media monitoring, including the distribution of coverage and compilation of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to demonstrate reach and impact. Support teams / departments with producing communication materials and liaise with the Marketing team on necessary design / production / printing requirements. Working alongside Communications colleagues to record and edit podcasts and video content, as required. Experience with creating and distributing digital and printed communications and having an eye for design is preferable, but not essential.
