About us

The BRC is dedicated to vision research. It aims to substantially improve the diagnosis, management and treatment of eye conditions to benefit large numbers of patients in the UK and around the world. A £816 million investment in health research has been shared between 20 NHS and university partnerships across England through the NIHR. Each of the 20 BRCs, will host the development of new, ground-breaking treatments, diagnostics, prevention and care for patients in a wide range of diseases.

About the role

The postholder will work under the leadership of the BRC Communications Manager to implement the communications strategy for NIHR Moorfields BRC, leading on projects within the plan and where necessary.
The postholder will be responsible for day-to-day BRC communications activities, including social media and website updates. The postholder will be responsible for planning and running events related to the BRC.
The postholder will be expected to understand the range of activities undertaken within the IoO and MEH, including those related to teaching, research (across the whole pipeline from fundamental science to applied clinical) and public engagement, as well as both institutions’ strategic plans.

About you

We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic person to join our team. Communications and Events Coordinator is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in our BRC core team and to implement key aims in our comms and public engagement strategy.
With comms and events experience, you will work with the Public Engagement and Comms team to successfully plan, manage and run events throughout the year for staff, patient and public audiences. You will also need to coordinate the social media at key dates and milestones
