We are recruiting a Communications and Engagement Coordinator to support the development of The University of Manchester’s Creative Manchester Platform.
Creative Manchester is a University-wide development for advancing inter-disciplinary research in creativity and creative practices. Creative Manchester’s three core research themes are centred on: Creative Industries and Innovation; Creative and Civic Futures and Creativity, Health and Wellbeing. Creative Manchester works collaboratively with the other University Research Platforms; Digital Futures and Sustainable Futures.
You will work closely with the Creative Manchester Platform Manager and provide comprehensive support to lead on the development, planning and delivery of events and activities that deepen Creative Manchester’s engagement with internal and external stakeholders. This varied and interesting role will see you design, plan and manage successful large virtual and physical events with internal and external attendees, and develop and deliver communications strategies with responsibilities including creating and delivering compelling, engaging content, copy-writing, creating videos and other digital content, as well as maintaining websites. The role will also support the Creative Manchester Platform Manager in building and maintaining communities of researchers within and across the Platform’s themes.
You will have previous experience of working within a busy environment. You will possess excellent organisational skills, oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively. You will be self-motivated, able to demonstrate a flexible approach to work, be able to work independently and to show initiative as well as demonstrate the ability to adapt to constantly changing challenges and provide creative solutions. You will be used to meeting deadlines using judgement to prioritise competing demands. You will have the ability to work extremely accurately with a high volume of complex and detailed data and maintain excellent standards of accuracy under pressure. In addition, you will have excellent IT skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
As a member of the Directorate of Research and Business Engagement, the post holder will work with the team manager to develop and maintain a collegial working environment of continuous improvement to deliver team and Creative Manchester objectives.
