CRE Structured Lending & Finance Credit Risk Manager

As a Barclays Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Structured Lending & Finance Credit Risk Manager you will be responsible for the analysis, approval and monitoring of CRE transactions which includes, origination of commercial mortgages to exit via CMBS, warehouse financing for commercial mortgage lenders, balance sheet lending and syndication, financing for CMBS/CRE CLO securities repo, corporate lending to mortgage REITs, CMBS risk retention and financing.

What will you be doing?
- Analysing and recommending approval, declination or new loan terms for proposed facilities and CRE transactions involving stabilised and transitional properties
- Negotiating credit covenants for commercial mortgage lenders, securities financing and warehouse facilities
- Performing on-site due diligence with management of lending counterparties, Proposing, monitoring and reporting on risk appetite for lending limits and stress loss
- Acting as the primary intermediary between clients, business units, auditors and department heads
- Reviewing asset management reports for commercial real estate transactions
- Maintaining integrity of the credit risk function whilst ensuring that the team continues to fully support Front Office relationship and sales staff
- Preparing credit papers for new transactions, annual reviews, and quarterly reviews
- Preparing Watchlist reports for submission & approval through relevant discretion processes where appropriate, presenting credits at CreditCommittees
- Experience in credit risk or relevant experience covering both Investment Grade and Leveraged and/or Sub-Investment Grade clients in the Real Estate sector and/or CMBS sector
- Understanding of corporate finance and banking products, related markets, documentation and precedents
- Significant analytical skills with attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance/Economics or Real Estate related discipline

- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and have the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts and ideas
- Possess a high degree of self-motivation, the ability to drive for results, and track record of setting and achieving goals and meeting schedules
- Experience across core CRE sub-classes (e.g. office, retail, multifamily, lodging and industrial) including knowledge of Commercial Real Estate underwriting and valuation metrics
