Job Title: Commercial Analyst
Reports to: Commercial Development Manager, North & West Yorkshire
Location: Hybrid (Home/Leeds)

What You'll Be Doing?
- Using data and insight to proactively monitor business performance, being able to identify emerging trends and issues.
- Working with the local commercial development, network, and marketing teams to identify opportunities for customer experience improvement, and passenger and revenue growth.
- Generating ideas to enhance and grow our bus network, utilising planning tools and building the required evidence and arguments to proceed.
- Making suggestions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our bus network.
- Monitoring retail channels and products, leading on innovative and evidenced suggestions for price points.
- Supporting the preparation of the revenue budget and forecasts.
- Supporting tender bids and identifying areas for growth, leaning upon reporting systems and its outputs to do so.
- Working within a divisional framework, provide regular revenue, channel and passenger performance reports with relevant commentary and insight.
- Using market information provided by the central analytics team, understanding why external factors impact demand on bus travel, and making recommendations based on that insight.
- Providing analytical support for new business initiatives within North & West Yorkshire.
- Acting as the regional champion for data analysis, ensuring that the central investment in improved systems is utilised across the region.
- Liaising with colleagues in the central analytics team, and in other operating companies, to ensure best practice analysis is shared.
What We're Looking For?
- A candidate with an inquisitive nature, that's willing to question the status quo.
- The ability to
- Use data and insight to confidently build and present arguments for change.
- Present complex data in a succinct and understandable way.
- Work well in a changing environment and plan for a range of scenarios.
- Good time management and prioritisation skills.
- Good analytical and communication skills combined with business acumen, pragmatism and with an excellent sense of diplomacy.
- Significant experience and effective use of Microsoft Excel, PowerBI and SQL.
- Strong numerical capabilities with a degree or relevant in mathematics or another numerical subject.
