What we need in a nutshell
Here at Away Resorts we are all about discovering different, so why would our roles be an exception?! In the rest of the Holiday Park world this role is called a Complex Manager, however in Away Resorts you would be called a Commercial Manager and its so much more as you are responsible for driving revenue across your whole park, including Food & Beverage, Leisure, Retail and more
This is an exciting opportunity for you to use your knowledge, experience and ideas to manage all aspects of the revenue generation and cost control on one of our Flagship parks.

What you’ll be doing
You will need to develop an in-depth understanding of the commercial aspects of all our operational businesses on the park, this includes:
- The preparation and management of budgets for resources on the park, to deliver annual profit targets in food and beverage, arcade and gaming
- Identifying and maximising business opportunities
- Monitoring and maintaining cost controls to create efficiencies across the business
- Managing the development, coaching and performance of the Food & Beverage and Retail teams, promoting the Holiday Heroes culture that makes our holiday park a great place to work
- Helping to deliver the highest level of guest experience to all our guests
- Developing close working relationships with the other managers on the park as well as other areas of the business, gaining an understanding of what drives their side of the business and how you can help them with commercial information
- Being a professional interface with the owners and stakeholders of the business and with external suppliers and other important contacts
One more thing…holidays happen at holiday times, so you’ll need to work your magic on bank holidays and weekends too.
Skills, experience and qualities you’ll need
We are looking for an ambitious, commercially focused manager who can demonstrate the following:
- Experience in leading Food & Beverage operations
- Commercial acumen in abundance with a track record of delivering new strategies and opportunities and experience of Change Management
- Excellent leadership, influencing and communication skills, with the ability to motivate as well as clearly communicate detail
- A track record in leading and developing teams and managing performance
- Ability to work under pressure and solve problems
- Numerate and comfortable with commercial information and detailed financial analysis
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ambitious and determined, with a proven record of self-driven achievement
- A willingness to be ‘hands-on’ when needed, with a good helping of common sense and humour
It’s the icing on the cake, but not essential, if you have worked on a holiday park, you have knowledge of the latest commercial methodologies, trends, tools and solutions in the Leisure sector.
