Cornwall provides the perfect opportunity for a commercially minded Food Safety Officer to work and live. This role will see you working in one of the most beautiful parts of the country for one of the largest Unitary Authorities in England.

We have over 10000 food business, 160 of which are Approved Premises spread over 1,376 square miles. We service the fishing industry in Cornwall, issuing over 150 Export Health Certificates monthly to enable them to trade in Europe. There are a broad range of seasonal events and activities that come with being a popular international destination, and there is also the small matter of a Council that is geared towards protecting our residents through providing sustainable regulatory solutions. As a team we are making best use of mobile digital solutions to make our work more efficient.
We are looking for a professional Food and Safety Officer with experience in the field of food safety, including experience of approved premises and food exports. You will work alongside a highly experienced group of officers who are knowledgeable, dedicated and hardworking, who protect the public whilst exploring innovative ways of providing our sustainable regulatory service. The Food & Safety Team is continuing new ways of working with businesses and delivers several cost recovered services that complement the statutory work in order to raise levels of business compliance.
