Job description
The primary responsibility of the role is to help develop and deliver key management information (MI) reports for the Analytics and Risk Modelling team. This will include taking ownership of existing MI processes, developing new reports/tools as well contributing to the maintenance and development of key data sources. The role holder will use a range software to manipulate, analyse and visualise pricing and underwriting data, as well as communicate key findings to stakeholders.
What you'll be doing- To deliver routine MI & Data reports to the business. This will be achieved by utilising a range of existing databases/systems and technologies.
- To develop new regular MI reports and reporting processes from existing data. On receipt of new MI requests, accountabilities include clarifying requirements, proposing solutions, project planning, and communicating progress to key stakeholders.
- Support the analytics team in producing more complex and ad hoc analysis of data, both independently and as required by the business. This includes where existing MI frameworks may not exist and/or data comes from a variety of complex sources.
- To maintain and develop internal data sources and databases, using various tools: Snowflake, SQL Server, Excel, R Studio. Manipulate large datasets and upload them to our cloud-based architecture.
- Liaise with a wide range of staff, respond to MI queries in a timely manner and communicate key findings to stakeholders at all levels. Present findings in a range of formats, including written reports, through visualisation tools (Power BI/Shiny) or slide decks.
- Identifying opportunities to improve existing processes. Proposing new MI solutions and data management systems.
- Treating Customers Fairly: analyse feedback from all sources to ensure that customers’ reasonable expectations of performance and service are met and where failings are identified, provide information to relevant areas to enable changes to be made
- Provide concise, clear, and well communicated summaries of all analysis and present these findings to key stakeholders. Provide ongoing education to stakeholders to ensure quality decisions are made.
- Core GCSE’s with C+ grade plus either some further education, training or experience relevant to the role
- Strong SQL skills
- The ability to handle and manipulate data using MS Office tools (Excel)
- Knowledge of open-source programming languages (R/Python) is desirable
- Knowledge of visualisation tools (Power BI/Tableau/Shiny) is desirable
- A good eye for detail
- Conscientious approach to workflow management
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to work professionally with colleagues and other departments.
- Knowledge of regulatory environment and framework advantageous
