Job description

We are looking for enthusiastic High Intensity CBT Therapists who are passionate about their work to join the CNWL Talking Therapies Services in our Westminster team.

We embrace agile working and want our therapists to have a work pattern that suits their lifestyle. The Service is currently offering a combination of face-to-face and remote working (delivered either via home working or from our office base).

The team consistently meets its Key Performance Indicator targets and we actively embrace innovative, creative ideas and projects to meet the ever changing demands and dynamics of a hugely diverse local population. We are constantly seeking to improve and make our service a first class resource for Westminster and a great place to work, with a mixture of clear operational structures, open access, and a highly skilled and fulfilled team.

The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users. As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients and service users when working on our healthcare settings.

The post holders will be expected to provide evidence-based psychological treatment for common mental health problems at Step Three. Other responsibilities include triage work, clinical supervision, organising and presenting outreach events, and facilitating group work. We are especially looking for applicants who have enthusiasm, are adaptable, enjoy variety and enjoy pioneering, and who can work independently within a team context.

This post would be suitable for experienced practitioners or newly qualified High Intensity therapists.

In order to be shortlisted for this post, applicants must be BABCP accredited or have attended a BABCP accredited CBT training course and are working towards their accreditation.

To meet our community's needs the post holder will be expected to work in extended hours clinics offered by the service which include early morning and late evening clinics.

The successful candidates will receive weekly supervision and support from a Senior Clinician as well as monthly, reflective peer support. The Westminster service has close links with the other Talking Therapies teams within CNWL and there are opportunities for further development. We have good links with and have trainees from all the Regional training courses and there would be opportunities to mentor and supervise Trainee Clinical or counselling Psychologists, High Intensity Trainees and others as appropriate.

Westminster Talking Therapies is a long-established service with a reputation for excellence and great staff retention. We provide Low intensity and High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapies alongside a Counselling service provided by our partners, Mind. Based in the very heart of London, the service has offices in Paddington and Victoria with GP partner sites across an exciting and vibrant Borough.

The team has two hubs based at 190 Vauxhall Bridge Road in Central London and 11 Praed Street in Paddington. We also provide on site work to around half the Borough's GPs in exciting and diverse locations across Central London.
