About the role

Hours: 15 hours per week usually worked 2 out of 7 days to include bank holidays and weekends

Our Retail outlets provide 29% of much-needed income to the hospice. This is vital to be able to provide care to the people of Derbyshire. The hospice has 15 retail shops,1 furniture warehouse a Donation centre, 2 Clearance shops and 2 Coffee shops! We also have an online eBay/Amazon platform and an online furniture store, It’s a big operation! We are looking for a Coffee Shop Assistant to join the team at our unique Coffee shop based within our Furniture Store in Hasland.

This job role is hard work, enormous fun, hugely satisfying and very fascinating. This is a job that doesn’t have that Monday morning feeling and you will go home feeling happy that you did a great job for an amazing charity! those who work for Ashgate Hospice are very proud to do so. The main responsibilities include:

  • Prepare, create and serve a number of food and drink options for customers within the Coffee Shop.
  • Create a positive customer experience.
  • Ensure the highest standards of customer care are adhered to at all times.
  • Promote Ashgate Hospice in the local community.

About you:

You will be an integral member of the Hasland Coffee Shop team, greeting and serving customers, preparing and pricing items for display and creating a positive customer experience.

  • Skills and experience in relation to food standards required:
  • Excellent communication skills, able to relate to and influence all levels of staff, volunteers and customers.
  • Ability to multi task and manage conflicting priorities and targets.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety and Food Hygiene policies and Environmental Health policies.
