Kalman Manufacturing of Morgan Hill, California is a Silicon Valley leader in high-precision manufacturing with a diverse customer base, ranging from medical to global positioning systems. We work closely with our customers to design, develop, and process plan products from prototypes through production. You’ll enjoy a short reverse commute from the bay area to Morgan Hill, CA.
Position Summary:Kalman Manufacturing is looking for a production manager to be the leader of our manufacturing floor efforts. As a member of the operations team, the production manager will develop the necessary functionality within the manufacturing department to review, determine the feasibility of, and meet the production schedule. To do so, the production manager will allocate, review the performance of, and develop resources, both human and material. Additionally, they will measure the performance of the various manufacturing processes and develop models and methods that will be used to achieve improved performance against those measures, as well as any of the company’s strategic goals. They will additional provide feedback to the CNC process engineering team, as well as be the interface for production floor escalations and troubleshooting. As the leader of the manufacturing role, the production manager has significant influence on Kalman Manufacturing’s business and performance in this role is highly visible. Structure: This position reports to the Director of Operations. Setup leads report to the production manager.

Minimum Requirements:
· 10+ years of machining experience
· 5+ years programming and developing CNC machining processes
· 2+ years of supervisory experience in a CNC machine shop setting
· Extensive experience in setting up CNC machine tools
· Demonstrated knowledge in reading blueprints and understanding GD&T callouts
· Broad experience in working and tool holding technology and application
· Broad experience in tool selection and fixture design with respect to machining applications
· Demonstrated expertise in methodologies for process control and their applications
· Appropriate computer proficiency to support production data analysis, continuous improvement, and presentations thereof
· Must have good manual dexterity and able to lift 50 lbs.
Preferred Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate technical field
· Demonstrated Lean Manufacturing project leadership
· Experience developing metrics, reporting against said metrics, and develop the models to translate those metrics into meaningful manufacturing floor action
