Job Title: CNC Machinist/Programmer - Milling
Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: £37 - £39K depending on skills and experience
Hours: 37.5 hours a week. Mon-Friday 7am till 3pm
Job Type: Permanent, full time
The Role: SMC are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Machinist/ Programmer Milling to join the team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will support the team to ensure manufacturing orders(MO's) are completed in line with expectations of both internal and external customers. You will ensure quality is maintained, aiming for "Right First Time" approach on all build requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program, set up, and operate CNC Milling machines to manufacture precise components based on technical specifications and engineering drawings.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure adherence to required tolerances and specifications.
- Collaborate with the production engineering team to optimise machining processes and improve overall efficiency.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines to ensure smooth operations.
- Work with a variety of metals to create custom parts for different industries.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised work area.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with programming, setting, and operating skills.
- Experienced using CNC Milling machines, 3/4/5 axis, HyperMILL, Fanuc and Heidenhain
- Proficiency in programming HyperMILL highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Excellent knowledge of machining techniques, tooling, and materials.
- Familiarity with measurement instruments and quality control procedures.
- Ability to interpret complex instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and meet project deadlines.
