A world leading, automotive manufacturer of prestige and high valued motor vehicles is seeking a CNC Machinist to join their Automotive Design Team. They are currently seeking to recruit an experienced CNC Machinist to join their team within a setting and operating discipline (programming desirable). This role is offered on an ongoing contract basis with long term, ongoing or permanent opportunities for the right candidate paying a competitive pay rate.
The successful CNC Machinist will be working alongside a group of skilled Machinists assisting with the preparation of model vehicles, which are one off vehicles for new future model launches using CMS and Hurco CNC Milling and CNC Router machinery with Fanuc and Winmax controllers.
THE IDEAL SKILLS OF THE CNC MACHINIST:
- Experience in Setting and Operating 3 and 5 axis CNC Machines
- Experience in CNC Milling and CNC Routers
- Experience working in a Design, R&D, Prototype or similar 1 off environment.
- Experience working with various materials including tooling board, metals and plastics.
- Work to close tolerances
- Ensure consistent quality
- Monitor CNC machinery when running
- Inspect his/her own work at regular intervals
- Prioritise workload efficiently
- Experienced in Fanuc or Winmax programming would be advantageous
THE IDEAL CNC MACHINIST:
- At least City and Guilds or NVQ Level 1, 2 & 3 in a relevant discipline (essential)
- A full automotive apprenticeship in a relevant discipline (desired)
- CAD-CAM experience would be advantageous
- Experience in Tebis software would be advantageous
- Understanding of materials and best way to machine them
- Good attention to detail
- Candidates should be self-motivated, well organised with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Knowledge and practical understanding of H&S, C.O.S.H.H and environmental procedures
- Flexibility in working hours as per business needs.
Hours: Weekly Rotating AM & PM Shift
Earlies: 6.00am – 14.00pm
Lates: 14.00pm – 22.00pm
PAY: £24.82 per hour PAYE uplifted to £32.71 per hour to be paid via Umbrella PAYE payroll model. Final Pay Rate offered will be in line with inidividual skillset and experience.
