Position Summary:The position of machine tool service technician at Kalman Manufacturing, a precision CNC machine shop, is primarily responsible for the repair and maintenance of our CNC machine tools, as well as working with and continuously improving the methods we use to record, track, and manage these activities. As a member of the facilities team, the machine tool service technician will work to attempt to solve capital equipment issues themselves, with the facilities and engineering team, and with our outside vendors that support this equipment, such as our CNC machining tool distributors. Additionally, they will track internal requests for manufacturing floor and CNC machine tool improvements. As such, the technician will have to be able to track and manage multiple projects, communicate clearly in a variety of formats, and be able to provide status updates to the facilities manager and upper management. Minimum Requirements:
· High School Graduate or GED equivalent
· 2 years of experience involving the repair and preventative maintenance of capital equipment in a relevant industry (machining, automotive, aerospace/defense, semiconductor, appropriate medical device, etc.)
· Demonstrated coordination of projects with outside vendors in the above areas of experience
· Ability to keep track of the status of multiple projects and communicate that status effectively to management.
· Demonstrated competency in office computer software – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
· Enthusiastic desire to learn about the technical details of how CNC machine tools work
Preferred Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering or the sciences
· 5 years of experience in field service or in-house maintenance technician for CNC machine tools
· Familiarity with and the ability to make preventative maintenance schedules for capital equipment
· Demonstrated ability to read electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and other equipment schematics
· Theoretical understanding of how CNC machine tools function and how CNC machine tool controllers work
· Ability and interest in data management systems to manage and track facilities activities, priorities and performance

Pay: $32.00 - $43.00 per hour
