Cloud, Resilience & Cybersecurity - Government Relations & Policy Manager

As a Barclays Cloud, Resilience & Cybersecurity - Government Relations & Policy Manager, you will be cultivating deep relationships across key external audiences including regulators, government officials, MPs, and trade associations. Through these relationships, you will lead an increase in familiarity and improved knowledge of the bank’s cloud, resilience, and cybersecurity activities. You will be engaging and leading on issues of importance key to the bank, by developing policy and responding to strategically important consultations.

- Ensuring Barclays’ leverages its Group-wide resources appropriately to have the greatest possible influence on the formulation of cloud, resilience and cybersecurity policy
- Working with a broad range of internal stakeholders to formulate Barclays response to changes in, or formation of legislation via position papers, consultations and meetings
- Designing, documenting, and delivering strategic political stakeholder engagement plans for senior stakeholder to enhance political understanding its operations
- Leading communications, events, and public affairs efforts to build Barclays’ reputation amongst political stakeholders
- Coordinating and writing briefs for senior Barclays representatives ahead of key government meetings
- Producing internal communications, briefing materials to internal stakeholders on new legislative and regulatory proposals
- Assisting the firm’s interaction with relevant trade associations and industry bodies on UK policy issues
- Good knwoledge and experience of cloud, resilience and cybersecurity
- Experience of dealing with government regulatory stakeholders, possibly gained through working in a regulator, government or financial services areas of a professional services firm
- Experience of briefing senior stakeholders with the ability to build good internal and external relationships
- An understanding of the political and public policy landscape as it affects Barclays in the UK and the EU

- Excellent communication skills, spoken and written and an ability to explain complex policy issues and topics at a non-technical level
- Good coordination and organisation skills and ability to multi-task and turnaround requests quickly under pressure
- High levels of initiative and an ability to anticipate and solve problems
