Responsibilities:
As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our cloud infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of our systems, enhancing performance, security, and efficiency. Key responsibilities include:
  • Utilizing your excellent working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server to maintain and optimize database performance.
  • Demonstrating your expertise in Azure Virtual Desktop to provide efficient solutions for virtual desktop environments.
  • Building templates and deploying resources using the latest cloud technologies to streamline our operations.
  • Setting up robust monitoring and alerting mechanisms, along with creating Azure dashboards for proactive maintenance and rapid fault resolution.
  • Implementing automation solutions for the startup and shutdown of cloud services, maximizing resource utilization.
  • Ensuring the security and integrity of our cloud environment, including patching and deploying necessary supporting tooling.
  • Monitoring service consumption and reporting associated costs, optimizing resource allocation through rightsizing.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams on cloud transformation projects and cloud migrations.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and Azure Virtual Desktop.
  • Familiarity with building templates and deploying resources in a cloud environment.
  • Solid understanding of cloud monitoring, alerting, and dashboard creation.
  • Proficiency in automating cloud services startup and shutdown.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and patching in the cloud context.
  • Ability to analyze cloud costs and optimize resource allocation.
  • Previous experience in cloud transformation projects or cloud migrations is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies.
