The Role
Your role will be to work with our customers, in this exciting environment, to architect and deliver cloud native solutions ranging from complex transformation to high-value agile delivery. You will use a combination of your architectural skills and experience to lead our cross functional squads to deliver amazing solutions for our customers. You will join the Kyndryl Architect Profession, working closely with other Kyndryl Architects, Platform Engineers, Project Managers and technical subject matter experts. You will create high and low level designs in conjunction with agile delivery. You will participate in creating the solutions that drive our customers forward. - Experience from an architect’s perspective of 3 or more of the following:
- Platform Engineering – Experience of designing and working in platform engineering squads to auto-provision business and development platforms using DevSecOps (e.g. DevSecOps tooling, Kubernetes, serverless, messaging, databases, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, etc.)
- Next-gen Hybrid Cloud – Experience of provisioning hyperscaler technology in private and edge cloud locations e.g. Azure Stack HCI or Hub, AWS Outposts, Anthos.
- Modern Operations – Experience of provisioning and using cloud native operations tooling to control and observe the platforms, products and applications running in public, private and edge cloud. Knowledge of different operations models.
- Cloud Service Adoption – Experience of adopting, enhancing and optimising a customer’s cloud solution.
- New Ways of Working – Experience of at least two of the following: DevSecOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Agile Delivery, Product-Based delivery to automate, optimise and provision cloud solutions and platforms. Architectural experience of the following.
- Large customer change and transformation projects, with particular emphasis on delivering complex cloud native projects.
- Cloud solutions design and implementation.
- Strong IaaS, PaaS knowledge and experience, demonstrating both breadth and depth in a range of technologies and disciplines, including compute, storage, network, virtualisation, and automation.
- Knowledge and understanding of the key technologies used in Agile Delivery – Ci/CD Pipelines, GitHub, Infrastructure as Code.
- In-depth knowledge and experience of at least one Cloud Hyperscaler (Microsoft Azure / AWS / Google).
- Good communication and customer-facing skills.
- Strong reasoning and Problem-Solving skills.
Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise :
- The Open Group - Master Certified Architect (or equivalent).
- Cloud Hyperscaler certifications (Azure / AWS / Google).
- Good knowledge of API and integration.
- Good knowledge of security controls, storage solutions and network standards.
- Good knowledge of Advanced storage solutions and concepts.
- Good knowledge of Network standards and designs.
- Experience in optimising a cloud service using FinOps and SRE.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes solutions such as GKE, AKS, EKS, OpenShift, etc…
- Hands-on experience with the technologies being designed and implemented.
- Knowledge of regulatory areas: i.e PCI – DSS1/2, Financial Services Micro and Macro Regulatory requirements, ONR for utilities, OfCom, CESG IL1-4, etc.
