Job description
Start date: September 2023
Commercial legends start here
Want to manage a massive range of merchandise? To put your passion for numbers into practice within a retail environment? And to gain exposure to the entire M&S product lifecycle? Then apply for our graduate programme in Commercial (Merchandising, Dot.com, Supply Chain and Logistics). Manage our huge range of merchandise, ensuring we have the right stock, in the right place, at the right time – it’s never too soon to think about your commercial legacy in Clothing & Home.
On this programme, you’ll make Merchandising your mission. Through a broad range of experience across Supply Chain, Dot.com and Merchandising you’ll become the well-rounded commercially minded Clothing & Home Merchandiser we need. Expect to hone your eye for data and sales numbers, learn all about our online platform, and discover the magic behind managing our stock.
Day to day, you could be delivering strategies and sales plans that drive commercial results, working with Buying and Sourcing teams to understand product lifecycles, or elevating the customer experience on our e-commerce site, which we call Dot.com. From shapewear to suits, you’ll work to define our best-selling buys, using your analytical prowess to pick apart the data behind each product’s success to secure our future. It’s a big responsibility, but a challenge you’ll relish.
Across two years, you’ll rotate every six months across key business areas. This will see you develop a deep but broad understanding of fashion retail. The final six months of the programme will give you the opportunity to select the area you want to specialise in.
No matter where you want to take your career with us, we’ll support you all the way. So, if after the programme, you’re keen to progress to Assistant Merchandiser, you see yourself climbing the ranks of Supply Chain and Logistics, or you want to reimagine Dot.com, we have your back.
Ideally, you’ll hold a merchandising, analytical or business-related degree, although we’ll consider other degrees if you have retail experience. The talented people we look for are confident, highly organised and comfortable working under pressure. If you’re motivated and have high standards, you’re on your way to legendary success.
