Clinical Vascular Scientist/Sonographer with vascular experience

Clinical Vascular Scientist/Sonographer with vascular experience Manchester, England

Independent Vascular Services Ltd
Full Time Manchester, England 35000 - 48000 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

Salary: STP/Pre AVS – £35-36,000. AVS - £43-48,000 dependent on experience plus benefits and bonus.

Location: North West: Greater Manchester & The Wirral

Independent Vascular Services Ltd is seeking to recruit qualified or partly-qualified Clinical Vascular Scientists or Sonographers with vascular experience at a number of our sites (including Arrowe Park, Bolton & Pennine hospitals). We welcome applications from SVT accredited vascular scientists, those working towards accreditation, MSc Medical Imaging graduates, Scientist Training Programme graduates and sonographers with vascular experience. Exceptional candidates with less experience will also be considered.

IVS Ltd is an exciting place to work with our outstanding clinical teams spread across our eight full-time vascular laboratories. The successful candidate would be joining a company of 40 vascular scientists.

We offer a multitude of opportunities for career progression and development. This includes an extremely active research team focused on securing national and international grant funding for the development of 3D ultrasound in vascular applications. As part of our training team you could provide local trainee mentoring, as well as internal and external study days including lectures for the STP and PTP programmes at neighbouring Universities. Our sister company My Vein Clinic can give you the opportunity to become a Clinical Vascular Practitioner performing minimally invasive varicose vein procedures. There are also opportunities for career progression in unit management, business operations and clinical governance.

We perform the full range of vascular ultrasound assessments at all of our sites, with training available in unfamiliar modalities if required. You will also have the opportunity to develop experience in a number of subspecialist vascular scans such as Contrast enhanced ultrasound for assessment of EVAR endoleaks, Giant Cell Arteritis examinations, trans-vaginal ultrasound for assessing pelvic vein insufficiency, with early opportunities to master new 3D scan modalities. We are developing a remote quality analysis service allowing time away from scanning for image analysis from your home, using your vascular ultrasound skills but reducing MSK risks and lengthening your career.

IVS Ltd has an exemplary clinical governance record and in 2014 became the first service to attain UKAS-accreditation, and we are CQC-registered.

We offer a generous benefits package, including a cash loyalty bonus, shares in the company, conference fees, SVT membership fees, SOR indemnity insurance, parking fees, mileage and expenses, a laptop and mobile phone. We have an open approach to flexible working and staff benefit from a good work/life balance.

A full driving license and access to a car is essential as some travel between sites is required, although mileage, parking fees and breakdown cover are reimbursed as part of our generous benefits package. We have a rolling machine upgrade programme, with most sites using Phillips Epiq, Phillips Affiniti or Mindray Resona scanners, with a range of portable scanners for ward scans and outreach clinics.

Significant additional income is available from providing weekend cover. Weekend shifts at three of our sites are shared between staff on a rota basis and additional waiting list work is available for those who wish to further supplement their income.

There are endless fantastic places to make a home in the North West, be it vibrant Manchester City centre, the rolling Pennine hills, a beautiful Cheshire village or lively Liverpool and its surrounds. We have the Lake District and Peak District on our doorstep, and the beaches and mountains of North Wales are easily accessible.

To apply, please submit a CV and covering letter.
