Job description
The post holder would be expected to have experience in typing and an administration role. A relevant typing qualification would be desirable.
The post holder will provideprofessionaltyping and administrative support to consultants and other staff members within the Hewitt Centre, dealing with clinic correspondence, letters and reports as required, undertake filing in Patient Records and the Hewitt Centre in accordance with the Trust Records Management Policy. The post holder will also assist with telephone enquiries, filing and other associated administrative tasks.
Provide a professional clinical typing service to consultants, clinicians and other Unit staff as required, using audio transcription or copy typing. Ensure all typing is accurate, including medical terminology and all personal/GP details are checked against patient notes and Meditech/Summary Care Record where necessary. File correspondence and other documents with care and attention. Where you are required to record data on any system, regardless of the type of media, you must ensure that is it up to date, accurate. Work with the clinical staff to complete work in a timely manner to avoid delays in outgoing correspondence. Handle patient records as appropriate and ensures appropriate tracking as per Records Management policies and procedures. Action correspondence in liaison with the relevant consultant/clinician as required. Assist with the maintenance of an up to date electronic and paper office filing system appropriate to the relevant department and undertake filing in Patient Records and the Hewitt Centre in accordance with the Trust Records Management Policy.
