Job description
We are looking for a Clinical Trial Manager to join the Experimental Medicine and Rheumatology (EMR) trials groups within the UKCRC accredited Oxford Clinical Trials Research Unit (OCTRU). You will manage the experimental medicine RAMBOH-1 trial. Experimental medicine – in which key questions relating to novel therapeutics are addressed using biological rather than clinical endpoints - is a priority for the Medical Sciences Division. As an early adopter of this approach, you will have the opportunity to shape our approach to this rapidly evolving field of clinical trials.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day development and co-ordination of the multi-centre RAMBOH-1 trial, ensuring study milestones through to preparation for archive are met, including timely data collection. You will work closely with the Chief Investigator, grant holder and other stakeholders to achieve this and be responsible for keeping stakeholders updated with progress.
You will be educated to degree level in a biomedical or associated subject with proven experience in management of clinical research. Experience of overseeing the conduct of clinical trials and working to a high standard of Good Clinical Practice and according to the UK research governance framework together with proven administrative and project management skills are essential. Experience of managing a multi-centre clinical trial in an academic setting and experience of research in rheumatology are desirable.
This is a part-time position (0.75FTE) until 30 November 2025.
Due to the nature of the research at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, this job will require additional security pre-employment checks:
- A satisfactory basic Disclosure and Barring Service check
A lower grade offer may be made (Grade 6: £32,332 - £38,205 p.a.) with commensurate reduction in responsibilities and amendment in job title to Trainee Clinical Trial Manager if a suitable candidate cannot be found to fill the Grade 7 position.
