Job description
Clinical Support Workers
Hammersmith area, London.
£15 per hour – £30,501.90 per annum
This is an exciting opportunity for Support Workers
We are currently looking for a team of Clinical Support Workers to support a young lady with complex needs within her new bespoke home in the Hammersmith area. This is a two bedroomed bungalow, and we have an opening for another person to move in.
You will be trained to deliver clinical procedures to support the lady with her health needs including administration of medication, enteral feeding, oral suctioning and oxygen administration, physio programs, postural management, monitoring vital signs and skin viability.
The lady is sociable, she enjoys accessing the community and love seeing her family who live nearby, including 1 very loveable pet dog.
The lady has profound multi learning disabilities and complex health needs, but this does not hold her back. Her beautiful new bungalow is modern, light and fully accessible; the lady also has her own hydrotherapy pool. This environment is key to her living life to the full, but it does not stop there.
The lady uses a broad selection of communication technologies including eye gaze, head switch and innovative music applications, the successful candidates will be trained on all equipment.
Training will begin at one of our nursing services near Twickenham, where you will undergo competency training delivered by a nurse led team. You will be supported by the provisions Home Manager and supervised by the Clinical Lead Nurse Manager to ensure that a good quality, safe and effective service is delivered.
Drivers are desirable as the lady has her own mobility vehicle. There are also two parking spaces available for care staff vehicles. If you are travelling by public transport, there are two local train stations at Stamford Brook and Goldhawk Road, as well as Acton Central overground. The service is also on the 94 and 237 bus routes.
An ideal candidate will have had some experience within the care setting and be able to work as part of a close team. Choice Support and the families are looking for individuals who are caring, show initiative and can be creative in order to provide a stimulating home environment. Additional requirements are flexibility with working hours, as the service is 24/7 offering long, short, and night working opportunities.
The provision offers a rare chance to be involved in the beginnings of a bespoke service where an individual can develop her skills and build a successful career pathway in care.
While Covid19 vaccinations are no longer mandatory, Choice Support still recognises the vaccine to be the best line of defence against Covid 19. Some of our services still require staff to be fully vaccinated – the position which you are applying for is one of those services and applications will only be accepted from candidates who are fully vaccinated prior to her start date.
Please note that that Choice Support does not have a sponsorship licence and so therefore we are unable to recruit anyone from overseas.
Our commitment to diversity: We are committed to promoting diversity and inclusion and taking action to address inequality. We particularly welcome applications from anyone who is from a black, Asian or minority ethnic background, anyone who considers themselves to have a disability and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Choice Support is Disability Confident which is a scheme run by the Department of Work and Pensions. As part of our commitment, we operate a Guaranteed Interview Scheme - all candidates who declare a disability and meet the essential criteria for the role will be guaranteed an interview.
