The role

The School of Chemistry are looking to recruit a Senior Research Administrator to provide support across a number of activities. The role-holder will coordinate the administration of one of the school’s largest research groups in addition to working with the School Research Director and Research Theme leads to support research administration more broadly.

What will you be doing?

Working with the School Research Director to ensure that high level administrative support is provided across the school. This will include organising a number of internal and external events, developing web content, reviewing existing processes and designing and implementing new procedures where needed. It is also expected that this role will support the industrial liaison activity within the school and will have contact with external partners.

Supporting the research group activity will include providing executive support to the Senior Manager, including diary management and planning and arranging conferences and large meetings. The role holder will also be responsible for coordinating recruitment and induction of new group members and visiting academics, liaising with HR and finance as appropriate.

You should apply if you have experience of working in busy, diverse and demanding environment, with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines and are looking for an opportunity to further your career within administration. You will need to be proficient in Microsoft office and other general office systems including web content management, with experience in designing and implementing procedures, in addition to experience of managing large events.

You will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience of working in partnership with Senior Managers.
