Job description
We are looking for a motivated Clinical Research Fellow to support the clinical trial programme in vaccine and immunotherapy research at the Jenner Institute, University of Oxford.
You will be a key part of a multidisciplinary clinical trials team working on trials of global health significance and this post will afford a broad training in clinical trial design and management. There is full integration and active collaboration between clinical and laboratory teams and you will have the opportunity to purse a PhD if desired. You will collaborate widely with other research groups within the University and with academic and industrial partners, nationally and internationally. You will provide clinical input into the design and execution of clinical trials with other team members, and lead on the clinical delivery of those trials and be responsible of the screening and vaccination of volunteers according to trial protocols. You will also work closely with the clinical trials team including project managers, nurses, recruitment coordinator and data manager in the design and conduct of clinical trials.
It is essential that you are educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject. You will have a GMC registration; you must be currently qualified and licensed to practise medicine in the UK with substantial relevant experience in clinical medicine, equivalent to completion of core medical training as a minimum. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills for a wide range of audiences and excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to be comfortable and confident interacting with volunteers and patients in a research study, clinical research co-ordinators, team members, laboratory and administrative staff, etc. The ability to work independently and as a team member is also required. You will have the ability to undertake some work outside office hours in order to support trial activities as needed (this can be taken back as time off in lieu).
