Job description
There are CPD monies and research opportunities available with this post dependent on service need and the successful candidate's interest.
We are a forward-thinking department in terms of the services we provide to our service users, how we influence the wider system and the development and progression of our staff.
You will be part of a small but supportive psychology team made up of Clinical, Forensic and Assistant Psychologists. We provide regular placements for colleagues in training through our links with the Trent Doctoral course. We are keen to grow our team and build ourselves to a position of excellence in the provision of psychology to people with Intellectual Disabilities.
We have vacancies at an 8a level but welcome and encourage applicants wishing to be considered for a 7 to 8a preceptorship role. The appointed candidate would be supported to successfully plan and complete a competency framework in order to progress to band 8a, having developed the skills and competence to work at this level.
Continuing Professional Development at a band 7 level is likely to include;
- Risk assessment / management training
- Supervisor Training
- Substantive training in a therapeutic model (we would particularly welcome candidates with an interest in systemic family therapy).
We will be encouraging new colleagues to join us with ideas for research and we will ensure a job plan that enables the time and support to follow this through.
