Here at Mountain Healthcare, we are looking for a passionate, determined, and resilient individual to join our amazing team as a Clinical Psychologist.
This post provides you with the opportunity to be part of an evolving team working alongside the care and education staff within a secure children's home to maximise and tailor the support to both staff and young people.
This is a part-time vacancy, though full-time applications will also be considered.
Service hours: Monday - Friday, 9am to 5pm.
Our vision for delivering this high-quality service specification will require all staff to be able to develop new skills and we will work with you to provide the right support in a challenging environment.
Please note, all successful candidates will be subject to pre-employment checks including an Enhanced DBS check, two satisfactory references and police vetting checks.
The Clinical Psychologist role will include leading on the development of a more trauma-informed culture across the secure children's home and providing supervision for the wider team.
The psychology service works with a Healthcare Manager, Mental Health Practitioners, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner with psychiatry input and administration support. You would be expected to work as part of the MDT, and to work across staff teams to meet the needs of the young people.
Key Responsibilities of the Clinical Psychologist
- Providing highly specialist psychological assessments and treatment for CYP
- Formulating and implementing plans for the formal psychological intervention, management of mental health/psychological and/or behavioural difficulties based upon an appropriate conceptual framework and exercising expert clinical judgement based on the highest standards of evidence-based practice
- Establish rapport and build effective working relationships with CYP and all those involved in their psychological, emotional, behavioural, and mental health and wellbeing

Essential Skills:
- Band 8b, or Consultant 8c Hons Degree in Psychology (GBA registration) and eligible for chartered status
- Doctoral qualification clinical psychology
- Appropriate safeguarding training
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist
- Completion of supervised clinical practice in the NHS and/or other relevant care setting
- Ability to work with at least two models of psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention
