Pharmacy Support Worker
Band 2, 37.5 hours per week, 1 WTE

£23,362 – £25,368 plus Higher Clinical Environmental Allowance £1591.56 and High Secure Clinical Responsibility Allowance £3819.96 pro-rata*
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to work as a Pharmacy Support Worker within this unique and interesting environment.
The State Hospital (TSH) is one of only four high secure hospitals in the UK with the principle aim of rehabilitating patients, ensuring safe transfer to appropriate lower levels of security.
TSH is located in a beautiful, scenic part of South Lanarkshire in central Scotland with excellent facilities for staff and ample free parking. NHS Lothian provide the pharmacy services under Service Level Agreement with the onsite team, medicine supply co-ordinated via St John’s Hospital, Livingston and support from the Royal Edinburgh and Associated Services.
The successful applicant will be an integral member of a small, dedicated team who are committed to providing an excellent pharmacy service to our patients and wards.
Duties include stock control, providing medicines stock ordering (top-up) service to each of the wards, stock management of emergency medicines cupboard and emergency drug bags, processing orders and general housekeeping tasks such as completing and filing paperwork.
Previous experience in pharmacy or a similar field is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
You should have a National 4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics and be able to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail. Please refer to the job description and person specification for further information to ensure you meet the role criteria before applying.
There is no weekend commitment for this post.
