An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team, as the Principal Pharmacist, Medicine at our Epsom site. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist to lead and develop the clinical pharmacy service to the Medicine division.
As the principal pharmacist for Medicine, you will provide leadership and clinical expertise. You will be a core member of the MDT, ensuring safe and effective medicines management and medicines optimisation. You will oversee the implementation of service improvements, review of medicines expenditure, as well as clinical governance and medicines safety within the Medicine division. You will work directly with patients and carers to understand their needs, nd support adherence to medication regimens. You will also manage the pharmacy medicine team, assisting in the training and development of a range of staff who rotate through the pharmacy medicine team.
If you are a motivated, autonomous individual who enjoys direct working with patients and being part of an MDT then this is the role for you. There is scope to tailor the role to clinical areas of individual interest within the division such as cardiology, respiratory, endocrinology or Care of Older People. We will provide appropriate training to aid your personal and professional development including obtaining a non-medical prescribing qualification, if you do not already have this.
To develop the clinical pharmacy services, to the Medicine Division in liaison with the Lead Pharmacist Medicines and the Deputy Chief Pharmacist, Clinical Services.
To manage, provide, co-ordinate and evaluate clinical pharmacy services to the medicines division, in liaison with the Lead Pharmacist for Medicine as appropriate
To develop, implement, evaluate and monitor medicines management guidelines, policies and procedures to ensure the safe and effective use of medicines, within the division.
