Job description
Permanent | Full-time | KW/SO/11428/2
A leading Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy in Southampton is now looking for an experienced Pharmacist Manager to join the team and lead the day-to-day operations within the pharmacy.
Outpatient services successfully bridge the gap between clinical and community – creating a flexible and dynamic environment that sees and cares for people with a wide variety of healthcare needs; from recent attendees of A&E, to discharged patients continuing treatment at home, to people managing chronic or progressive conditions.
The Outpatient Pharmacy serves one of the largest customer bases nationally and is currently undergoing an exciting period of expansion. As Pharmacist Manager, you will work alongside the Dispensary Manager to lead the more clinical elements of the pharmacy such as screening prescriptions, providing counsel and advice to patients and healthcare professionals, monitoring for compliance, and overseeing the development of both the team and offered services.
While a clinical or outpatient pharmacy background will be an advantage, Community Pharmacists with managerial experience will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
This is a permanent role for a Clinical Pharmacist Manager, with full-time and part-time hours considered (32 – 40 hours per week).
Person specification:
Candidates must have:
- Active registration with the GPhC as a Pharmacist.
- Previous experience in a high-volume, fast-paced dispensing environment.
- Previous managerial experience.
It is desirable but not essential to have:
- Previous experience within hospital/outpatient pharmacy.
Benefits/enhancements include:
- Enhanced annual leave package
- Performance-related bonus scheme
- Staff discount scheme
- Pension scheme
- GPhC fees paid
- Ongoing training and development including paid CPD days
Your application will be forwarded to Sterling Cross and they will contact you directly.
