Job description
Barnton Pharmacy is a well established Independant Community Pharmacy providing NHS prescriptions and services as well as Private services for over 13 years.
We are looking for a hard working Retail Assistant with excellent customer service and communication skills to join our award winning Pharmacy team to help us look after the healthcare needs of Barnton and Surrounding areas.
The position is for 3 and a half days (Monday 9-5.45, Tuesday 9-5.45, Wednesday 9-5.30, Saturday 9-1.
We will give full training to the right candidate. You will work towards training for a Counter Assistant qualification if you do not have that already.
You will be expected to work in the retail counter and retail areas of the pharmacy and work along with Pharmacists, Trainee Pharmacist, Accuracy Checking Technician, Trainee Technician and fantastic Dispensing support staff. Pay will depend on age, experience and qualifications.
This role will involve the following and more:
-using initiative
-working in a team under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist.
- Booking patients in for Travel consultations and ear wax removel appointments
-handling cash
-speaking to the public in person and on the phone
-Pharmacy first consultations and referral to pharmacist when needed
-selling medicines safely with advice to patients on the correct use
-giving advice on general health and lifestyle matters
-working with Trainees at all levels: Pharmacy students, Pharmacists, Technicians and Dispensers.
Starting rate of pay of £10.50 is for those over 21 years old and increases with qualifications gained.
