Clinical Nurse Manager Overview
The Clinical Nurse Manager is a key role within our Home Management Team Structure, leading and managing a small team of nurses with a coaching and supportive leadership style, to ensure our nursing service is fully compliant in all matters including care, health and safety, staff management and all other UK and sector legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Our Residents; Managing active enquires, pre-admission visits and needs assessments, and reassessment of existing residents. Taking the lead in FNC/CHC referrals as required. Effective person-centred relations with residents and relatives through regular engagement and responding timely and appropriately to queries, issues and concerns.
- The Team; Regular updates and team briefings, monitoring and promoting best practices, conducting one-to-one reviews and annual appraisals, conducting clinical supervisions for Registered Nurses, identifying training needs to ensure Registered Nurses are fully competent in clinical procedures, and supporting the Home Manager with the planning of nursing staff rotas.
- Leadership: Lead the Registered Nurses and Care staff and support the Home Manager in meeting the clinical needs of our residents plus the supervision, clinical supervision, appraisals and training of the nursing and care staff.
- Clinical Governance: Ensure clinical governance within the Home’s nursing service is maintained and improved. Conduct medication, care plan and clinical audits. Maintain and update the clinical risk register.
