The ideal candidate will have significant experience in Dermatology nursing gained through working in a specialist or senior clinical nursing role. The post holder will be the Key Worker for patients with medical dermatological diagnosis and will be required to provide a complete nurse led service within the parameters of the Key Worker role.

Our patients are at the heart of what we do, you will be instrumental in gaining their feedback and using this to shape the service, along with regular audits. You will be responsible for shaping the service to ensure our patients have the best possible experience and that our care is in line with the Dermatology Delivery plan. As a Dermatology professional you will have access to all of the training and development that we offer.

You must be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm and drive for achieving and sustaining high clinical standards along with the ability to work effectively in a Nurse Specialist role through being a credible role model.

The post holder will :

  • Act as a clinical expert and resource by maintaining specialist knowledge, expertise and credibility through direct clinical practice and managing a caseload of patients receiving Dermatology treatments for chronic skin disease, such as biologics, phototherapy, systemic therapy and investigations required to assess those patients.
  • Be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality, clinically effective nursing care within the Dermatology service.
  • Use clinical expertise and clinical skills to accurately assess an identified patient cohort and manage whole episodes of patient care independently.
  • Provide clinical leadership to staff within the area, working in close collaboration and co-operation with members of the multi professional team and outside agencies.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative working with clinical and educational networks.
  • Work within the medical dermatology team, which included a pharmacist and CNSs, with a focus on compassionate and kind support and collaboration
  • Reporting to the lead nurse on all aspects of clinical activities, including significant changes affecting provisions of nursing care.
