Job description
The successful candidate will act as a key worker to patients receiving cellular (CAR T) therapy. They will ensure that patients and their families are fully informed and supported by providing clinical and psycho-social support. The individual will be responsible for the assessment of patient care needs and implementing appropriate care accordingly.
This is a secondment for 2 years and will be supported by the current post holder
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
- To deliver high quality and efficient inpatient and outpatient care for patients undergoing Car T Cell therapy.
- To assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient care using a holistic and individualized approach, based on the principles of best practice and clinical effectiveness
- To provide continued support to patients throughout their journey through the inpatient and outpatient setting, ensuring that their care is delivered in a timely and efficient manner
- To provide patients with information, education and psychological support throughout the course of their disease and treatment
- The successful candidate will be required to enhance their clinical role by training in practical procedures such as cannulation/ venepuncture / chemotherapy / care of central lines and factor concentrate administration. (This list is not exhaustive and may change to meet service)
- The post holder would be expected to be competent in the insertion of vascular access devices (PICC’s and power glides are examples) practical procedures such as cannulation / venepuncture / chemotherapy / care of central lines and factor concentrate administration. - The post holder will be required to work clinically
