Imperial College Healthcare (ICHT) NHS Trust wishes to recruit a trust grade doctor to Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital. This is a post in a tertiary unit which is available from October 2023. The duties of this post will be delivered at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital. The rota is fully compliant with the new Junior Doctors Contract.
The post is clinically based in the area of Rapid Access Gynaecology and will involve participation in RACs, Ovarian cyst clinic, learning to deliver a one stop service, training in advanced gynaecology scanning skills, attending MDT discussions, attending some surgical lists and training in hysteroscopic surgery. 50% participation in the on call rota at Registrar level is required. On call duties are based on labour ward and the gynae ward, covering Obstetrics and gynaecology in the evenings, weekends and nights as the registrar on call.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who has already commenced training in O&G but wishes to gain specific experience in Rapid Access Gynaecology and ultrasound diagnosis at this internationally renowned tertiary unit while maintaining obstetric skills by participating on an on call rota.
This is a 12 month position at registrar level, ideally suited to a candidate who is interested in developing their skills in rapid access gynaecology, cancer diagnostic imaging and hysteroscopic surgery.
The post also includes an out of hour on call component at registrar level post involving 50% on call for both obstetrics and gynecology to participate in a 1 in 10 on call rota. The hospital is covered at night by an obstetric consultant (resident until 11pm then from home thereafter), a non resident Gynaecology consultant, a Senior Registrar (Specialist trainee 6/7), Registrar (Specialist Trainee 3-5) and SHOs (Specialist trainee 1/2).

Duties and responsibilities:
Attending Rapid Access Gynaecology Clinics, ovarian cyst clinics, hysteroscopy theatre lists. Managing the care of patients through the diagnostic pathway, Liaising with the the multidisciplinary team including GPs, radiology, gynaeoncology team, training in advanced ultrasound skills, learning to deliver a one stop service, training in hysteroscopic surgery.
