Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Call Handler, post within the Acute Medicine Team at QEUH working closely with the clinical and non-clinical teams.
The post holder:
- will be responsible for the taking referral calls from GP surgeries, other clinical settings and directing them clinically to the correct area of service, this may result in redirection of patients that are not required to attend a hospital environment in line with Redesign of Urgent Care & NHS Scotland’s “Right Care, Right Place, Right Time”
- will also collate information/data for the Service, providing reports on a daily basis, involved in service redesign and provision.
- will require to have a reasonable background in acute services and strong medical understanding.
- will be required to hold a current NMC registration within Adult Nursing.

This post is 12 hour shifts over 7 days – office based.
