Climate Portfolio Management Specialist
London
As a Barclays Climate Portfolio Management Specialist, you will be responsible for working in the Climate Portfolio Management team within Sustainable Finance. We want to support our clients by identifying key strategic opportunities to accelerate their transition to a lower carbon economy and providing the sustainable and transition financing solutions needed to make that a reality. Your role will involve advising senior leaders across the bank to ensure clients are transitioning in a manner consistent with real-world decarbonization.

- Executing the assessment/review of client transition plans as part of the Client Transition Framework (CTF), used to evaluate our clients’ transition plans
- Advising senior leaders across the bank on the functions of the CTF to ensure their clients are transitioning in a manner consistent with real-world decarbonization
- Driving data collection and validation activities, researching client transition plans, understanding, and operating related tools, and implementing technology solutions
- Supporting the embedment of the CTF scores into other bank wide processes
- Conducting on-demand analysis for senior management, creating presentations to support insights & client meetings
- Working with other ESG / Sustainability aligned teams across Barclays in order to develop BAU MI and generate content required for public disclosures
- Conducting analysis as required to set future sector level emissions reduction targets with minimal oversight
- Contributing to other Climate Portfolio Management team activities as required
What we’re looking for:
- Entrepreneurial mindset, always on the lookout for opportunities to improve the way things are done
- Prior experience working in a wholesale banking or financial services consulting environment; basic understanding of Corporate & Investment Banking business drivers
- Excellent and demonstrable analytical, design and problem-solving skills with ability to prioritise and pivot seamlessly between tasks
- Ability to; take ownership of multiple tasks, analyse issues, and propose solutions
Skills that will help you in the role:
- Prior experience or knowledge of climate scenarios, decarbonization pathways or other relevant climate change topics
- Experience developing tools & reporting to support decision making
- Demonstrable experience of working effectively with technology teams to deliver on projects
- Some credit skills & regulatory knowledge

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
