Job description
xDesign is a UK-based Digital Development Partner working with some of the UK's most recognisable brands like MoneySavingExpert, FanDuel and Tesco Bank. Our reputation as a partner determined to deliver high-quality and robust web and mobile products has enabled us to scale to over 450 people in the last few years.
With even more ambitious growth plans for 2023 and beyond, we're looking for a Client Lead to join our sales division and continue to drive our exponential growth in the UK. This is a relatively new role and team within the business, so it's a huge opportunity for the right person to carve out our strategy and processes.

About the role and team:
As Client Lead you'll fulfil a fundamental role in xDesign's growing Client Partnership team, forging close working relationships with our people and a number of key clients.
You will take responsibility for client happiness and performance in your accounts, working with the Head of Client Partnerships to develop effective working relationships. You'll act as the key point of contact with the client to review performance, client satisfaction and any agreed KPIs. You'll work with senior members of the team to escalate and resolve issues, as well as highlighting areas of opportunity for growth.
What you'll be doing:
- Adopting best practices (tools, templates, working methods) and providing overall high standards of client service, working effectively with xDesign delivery teams
- Ensuring we provide the best possible experience for both the client and xDesign team, with a people first approach driving positive engagements at all times
- Building relationships with stakeholders of all levels both externally with the client as you represent xDesign but also internally with the xDesign project team; enabling you to swiftly resolve issues raised by either
- Developing successful working relationships and delivering long term value with clients on key accounts, working closely with the Head of Client Partnerships to support growth and address arising issues
- You will possess a deep understanding of the work being delivered for a client and the stage it is in, the xDesign team members contributing towards it and ensuring that you can talk confidently and authentically about the work we are delivering
- Managing client commercials, working with the Delivery team, to ensure the business has accurate billing and forecasting information
- Helping support the client with timely and accurate communications including effective onboarding, resource planning, team sourcing and performance measurement
We'd love to talk to you if you:
- Have experience working in a digital, tech or marketing consultancy in an account management capacity
- Have a basic knowledge and understanding of core tech stacks and engineering principles
- Are enthusiastic to learn more about (and champion) new and emerging propositions within the business
- Have a proven ability to manage and grow client accounts through the quality of your team's delivery
- Have strong communication skills and the ability to build meaningful strategic and commercial relationships with both your clients and colleagues, that enable you to clearly articulate the message you want to deliver to client or team
- Have an analytical perspective, able to set out and monitor KPIs
- Have an ability to give difficult messages without breaking trust between client or team
- Have the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and changing priorities, as needed
- Have an adaptable approach - no two days are the same so being able to adapt to change or tailor your approach to different clients is key to your success. By listening to your team or client you'll put yourself in their shoes and empathise with them
- Have a strong focus on delivery time. Whether it be a commitment to an individual, the team or the client, work is always done on time and to a high standard
- Have the skills to help build account plans to ensure that the business is well informed about each overall account opportunity
- Have a positive attitude and constructive approach to new ways of working
What we'll offer you:
We'll ensure you have a highly capable delivery team that can deliver what you sell, with access to the full UK capability of the business. We'll provide a highly competitive base salary.
As we're in a phase of redefining our client function, this is a unique opportunity to contribute to the team by defining strategy, growth and processes.
We have a transparent progression framework so you can take ownership of your future career at xDesign. We're also set up to support internal mobility to other roles, such as Client Partnerships.
Our benefits include:
- 6 paid learning and development days a year and a generous individual budget
- Total 35 days holiday (we have flexible bank holidays)
- Comprehensive private medical insurance
- Enhanced parental and adoption leave
- 1-1 professional financial coaching
- Up to 50% off an electric vehicle
