Clerking Assistant Required For Leading Barristers’ Chambers
SALARY: Salary is subject to age and experience, in line with the National Living Wage.
REPORTS TO: Senior Civil & Family Clerk
PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To assist our clerking team in providing our clients with a first-class service, by maintaining the high standards expected by our clients. The role would suit a dynamic and ambitious individual, looking to begin a career in the Legal Sector.
WORKING HOURS: 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday
KEY TASKS WILL INCLUDE:
- Providing administration support to the clerking team
- General photocopying duties
- Scanning and emailing Briefs to Counsel. Printing Briefs for Counsel, received via email.
- Assisting our I.T manager with I.T tasks
- Assisting with compiling bundles to send to the court when required.
- Delivering urgent papers by hand to Solicitors’ offices, where required.
- Assistance with the preparation of Chambers functions.
SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
5 GCSEs at Grade A-C (or equivalent)
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Good numerical skills
Excellent time management, punctuality and organisational skills
Proficient in IT, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
