Position Summary:
The Clinical Educator develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of clinical staff.
Reports to: Education Director
- Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical,
administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
- Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
- Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
- Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
- Collaborates with nurse managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.
- Designs, delivers, and assesses learning activities and curriculum related to clinical competencies, departmental/organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and the use of clinical information technologies.
- Serves as a consultant/mentor for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.
- Participates in the development, coordination, and delivery of new staff orientation and education activities.
- Perform other duties that may be requested.
Minimum Education
Associate's Degree in Nursing is required.
Bachelors of Science in Nursing or Master's preferred.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
