Brett Dew, President, and Founder and his wife Eronica, launched BESS after Brett retired from the United States Air Force with 25 years of service. Eronica, also an Air Force Veteran, former Department of Defense employee, and government contractor, serves as Vice President of Business Development. BESS is based in Centreville, Virginia and specializes in staff augmentation services for federal and commercial organizations. Job Summary:
Requires administrative support services to support the client staff with the assimilation of program documentation, development of correspondence, checking documents for accuracy, processing payments, maintaining spreadsheets, etc. Monitors and tracks the commencement and expiration of agreements and prepares agreement modifications. Reviews contract obligating documents and assist in internal auditing of agreements. Work shall be completed in accordance with client policies and procedures. The workload requires the support of individuals capable of working independently within the organization while understanding client programs, administrative procedures, and office routines.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· The primary duties will be assisting client staff with conservation program documentation and administration.
· Training for client-specific program activities will be provided to the Contractor’s employees.
· Work must be completed in accordance with client policies, procedures, and the local Field Office Technical Guide (FOTG) requirements.
· Training may be required as needed and provided by the client for the organization's policies and procedures.
· Use of Government-Owned Vehicle (GOV) to travel between client offices.
· Reviewing and verifying technical and professional materials for format and grammatical accuracy, including interpretative materials.
· Maintaining office files, manuals, handbooks, and reference libraries, both paper and electronic.
· Answering the telephone, greeting visitors and signing for incoming deliveries and other administrative tasks
· Utilizing a variety of computer hardware and software applications and small office machines and use locally developed Excel databases to extract the information needed to develop reports related to scheduling, program tracking, and balancing of funds committed and expended.
· Provides a variety of information to program applicants and participants, such as specific program and eligibility requirements, guidance on completion of required program applications
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate office activities.
· Skill in operating computer hardware and software, phones, printers, copiers, and other office machines to carry out day to day work.
· Skill in performing duties of a receptionist for an office, providing assistance to walk-ins, answering phones, directing calls, taking messages, and announcing arrivals.
· Knowledge of policies and procedures governing correspondence management.
· Skill in the use of Excel sufficiently to analyze information and produce reports. Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite.
· Must maintain a state driver’s license and adhere to the same client policies and procedures when operating a Government vehicle.
· The Clerk shall have proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite software, specifically Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Read and write English
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods standing.
Must be able to endure long hours of continuous work.
Physical effort required by the job includes bending, reaching, standing, stooping, pulling, pushing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
