Job description
We require a Cleaning Operative to work at E16 (London City Airport)
Objective of the position:
Ensure cleaning services as per schedule, specification and line manager’s instructions and in line with GSF and Site policies and procedures.
Duties :
- Arrive to work in time for shift and be in presentable uniform.
- If unable to attend shift, report absence as per Employee Handbook – in good time before shift and through personal contact.
- Listen to Cleaning Supervisor instructions at any time through the shift regarding changes of place of work, including response to call-out, quality of work, reminder of adherence to and necessary improvements of safe practices of work and security measures.
- Clean as per training to ensure compliance with GSF cleaning standards and site specification.
- Maintain equipment and tools as per training.
- Report all damages and wear and tear of tools and equipment to Cleaning Supervisor immediately.
- Follow Health & safety Rules at all times including but not limiting to following the colour code, good personal hygiene, reporting accidents, incidents and near misses to Cleaning Supervisor, using PPE and uniform. Report all unsafe practices of colleagues and 3rd parties to Cleaning Supervisor and stop such practices, where possible.
- Report to Cleaning Supervisor immediately:
Issues with equipment, tools and chemicals.Levels of any stock being low in cleaning cupboards.Issues with infrastructure.Issues with other contractors jobs interfering with GSF jobs.
Any changes during their shift and schedule.
- Follow security measures at all times.
- Report changes in personal detail as per Employee Handbook.
- Be polite and courteous with all 3rd parties.

- Carry out Cleaning Operatives duties in accordance with job description, specification and Line Manager’s requirements.
- Ensure that quality of service provided always correspond to GSF standards.
- Comply with Health and Safety and Security requirements at all times.
- Suggest improvements to service provision or management system whenever possible.
- Authority
- Train subordinated employees.
- Control the performance of subordinated employees and raise disciplinary issues with Line Manager.
- Reporting To Cleaning Supervisor daily.
- Necessary qualification, skills, experience
- Successfully completed GSF induction and functional training.
- Successfully completed site inductions by the Client and pass the security requirements.
- Understanding both Risk and COSHH assessments provided for the tasks to be carried out.
28H per week at £12.40 per hour
Working hours Sunday to Friday 21:30 – 05:30
