PURPOSE OF ROLE
Ealing Property Services delivers a comprehensive facilities service to approximately 130 buildings across the borough, including cleaning. This role will primarily be responsible for management of cleaning services, but you will also be expected to liaise with customers/clients and stakeholders on a range of issues.
An outgoing and approachable personality is needed for this role as it is customer focused, you will be responsible for promoting and maintaining positive relationships with staff, customers, and stakeholders. The post holder will be the primary point of contact for stakeholders who have any cleaning requirements or issues.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail will be required as well as a responsive, pro-active approach You will liaise with the broader in-house team including Security, corporate Health and Safety, contractors, and suppliers
The post holder will be required to work on a rota which would include being on call to ensure that the service is covered from 7am to 11 pm, Monday to Friday, (excluding public holidays). You may also be required to work at weekends and public holidays depending on the needs of the service.
As part of the role, you will be required to undertake the recruitment of staff, carry out quotes and manage budgets.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Demonstrable knowledge of cleaning operations and industry standards
- Experience of managing large cleaning teams working across multiple sites
- Conversant with MS Office range of software tools, specifically; Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Explorer in order to send and receive emails, write reports and access on-line resources
- Strong time management skills and ability to effectively prioritise competing tasks
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to effectively engage with staff, stakeholders and senior management.
- The ability to respond and resolve customer complaints, displaying a flexible and solution driven approach as appropriate
- Able to work proactively, using own initiative to identify to senior management options for consideration to resolve service issues or to implement service improvements
- Ability to undertake on-call responsibilities and if required, ability to undertake work during unsocial periods and at times to meet the needs of the service
- Working knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation and practice as it applies to the working environment and cleaning operations
- Adhere to the principles of Quality and Equality in the workplace
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND REGISTRATION
- Holds or is working towards the BICS cleaning and supervisory skills certification (training can be supported)
- Holds or is working towards the IOSH Managing Safely qualification (training can be supported)
- Holds or is working towards a Level 4 award in Supervisory Management (training can be supported)
- UK Driving Licence
This role is subject to Ealing Council’s enhanced vetting process.
