Cleaner
Location: Ysgol Glan Clwyd, St Asaph
Salary: Grade 1, £10.60 per hour
Hours: 16 hrs per week 3:30-6:42pm
Permanent 43 weeks per year
We are looking for a new team member to join Cleaning Services.
We continually invest in the development of our staff with training leading to qualifications in equipment, health and safety and cleaning procedures to BICSc standards. No experience necessary but we ask that applicants share our commitment to customer service and a vision of a cleaner Denbighshire.
Appointment subject to Disclosure & Barring Service Check and satisfactory references.
Job Purpose
To provide an efficient Building Cleaning Service at Denbighshire County Council Sites
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Perform cleaning tasks, to a satisfactory standard, as per the site cleaning specification and frequencies.
Ensure all lights are extinguished and windows secured on completion of cleaning operation.
Ensure safe working practices are adhered to at all times in particular those relating to the use of machinery and chemical substances.
Report defective equipment immediately to the appropriate supervisor.
Order and receive cleaning materials as required.
Maintain storage lockers at cupboards in a clean and tidy condition.
Complete signing in / signing out register each day.
Be properly attired at all times.

Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience
An experienced cleaning operative with knowledge of general cleaning and the ability to perform task as instructed by immediate supervisor.
Special Working Conditions
Moderate Exposure to cleaning chemicals (controlled under COSHH regulations).
Employment Checks/ Specific Requirements
All new starters are required to undergo our standard safer recruitment checks;
DBS clearance, 2 satisfactory references covering 3 years’ employment, evidence of essential qualifications and evidence of Right to Work in the UK.
