Job description
Saffron Associates Ltd is a small family-run business based in Dorset, we’re seeking to recruit self-employed cleaners, based in the Bournemouth & Poole area for our 2023 summer changeovers.
We manage quality student accommodation in Poole and Bournemouth. Experience is preferred but training is provided for all. Working hours can be flexible, once you are established in the role, but generally from 10am to 3pm, Monday - Thursday, making the role attractive to working parents, students and anybody wanting to supplement their existing income.
Good organisational skills and an ability to work from initiative are essential. They will be honest, reliable and hardworking and committed to achieving very high standards in their work with a good eye for detail.
You need to be able to follow instructions and be reasonably fit to do this job. There are no fixed qualifications required however, previous cleaning experience would be preferable but not essential as training is provided.
Interview will include a conversation with regards to what is required and we ask new staff to complete a full paid trial/face to face interview to discuss the work and any questions you may have.
Duties will include:
- Clean and sanitise bathrooms, kitchens, and other areas of the building.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
- Dust furniture, walls, and fixtures.
- Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces.
- Clean carpets and rugs using vacuum cleaners or shampooers.
- Maintaining the standards and working practices at all times
- Monitoring areas for damage and report any problems to Supervisor
- Notify Supervisor of any required repairs furniture fixtures and fittings
- Monitor any carpet cleaning requirements
- Notify Supervisor of any maintenance faults and faulty equipment.
- Maintain tidy and clean work space/storage cupboards
- Maintaining confidentiality, acceptable standards of behavior and service at all times
- Observe all hazard and instructional signage
- Adhere to instructions regarding storage and use of chemicals
- Full participation in training to minimise occupational risk
- Ensure all areas are locked when you leave them
Key requirements
